At Break Point Tennis Consulting, we guide junior players of all ages—along with their families—through the journey of being a competitive tennis player. From tournament selection & progression, to on-court & off-court development, and the college recruiting process, we provide expert consulting to help athletes maximize their potential to play at the next level and cater to their unique goals. BPTC isn’t just about recruitment—it’s about building a foundation for lifelong success on and off the court.
I started Break Point Tennis Consulting because I know firsthand how overwhelming the journey to college tennis can be—for players, parents, and coaches. From tournament selection to training focus and the recruiting process, there’s so much information out there, but not always clear guidance on the best path forward. My passion is not just helping high school players get recruited—I also love working with younger juniors, helping them build a strong foundation. The right development plan can make a huge difference in a player’s long-term success. By guiding families early on, I help players maximize their potential, compete at the right tournaments, and stay on track for future collegiate opportunities. Every player’s journey is unique, and I’m committed to helping them find their best fit—both on and off the court.
Kayla's love of tennis started at a young age. Her mom played tennis for Purdue & was a tennis instructor all of Kayla's life. She got a racket in Kayla's hands by the age of four. From there, Kayla fell in love with the sport and played her first tournament at 7. It became her single focus and her dream was to play in college for a top academic & tennis program.
From there, Kayla continued to follow her goals, competing in NC, Southern's, and Nationally. After a wonderful & successful junior career, she decided to sign with TCU due to their academics, warmer weather, great team camaraderie, and being a top 15 tennis program. From there, Kayla continued to follow her goals, competing in NC, Southern's, and Nationally. After a wonderful & successful junior career, she decided to sign with TCU due to their academics, warmer weather, great team camaraderie, and being a top 15 tennis program. After two years there, Kayla decided to move closer to home after her dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma, and was fortunate to attend Wake Forest, another great program. Kayla reached as high as 33 in the country in singles and 7 in the country in doubles in her collegiate career, while also graduating in 2012 with a degree in Biochemistry.
After graduation and stepping away from tennis for a few years, Kayla started teaching at Charlotte Country Club as an assistant professional in 2015. She was promoted to Head Professional in 2019 and worked with all levels of players until she moved to Florida in 2023. Her love for the sport of tennis and her passion to help others led h
After graduation and stepping away from tennis for a few years, Kayla started teaching at Charlotte Country Club as an assistant professional in 2015. She was promoted to Head Professional in 2019 and worked with all levels of players until she moved to Florida in 2023. Her love for the sport of tennis and her passion to help others led her to the decision to create Break Point Tennis Consulting, seeing a need in the junior tennis scene. Having been through it herself, she is excited to help juniors & their families with their own journeys and looks forward to getting to know you.
